The ZWO-PE160 Pier Extension is essential for running larger telescopes and heavy astrophotography gear. It raises the mount head, keeping equipment safely clear of tripod legs while improving stability. For serious setups, this extension is not optional but required.

Nice construction, good fit and finish, easy to put together and attach to the tripod. The mechanism for securing the AM5 mount head is simple and ingenious and eliminates fiddling with small parts in the dark. It doesn't carry as much weight as the 200 but it will do for my smaller lighter setup. I'm very happy with this, just wish it was a bit taller to compensate for how short the tripod is.
